
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sad demise of Mrs. Cecily Ng’endo Mwangi.
She was the beloved wife of Mr. Simon Ng’aara Mwangi Kirika.
Loving daughter of the late Douglas Nderitú and the late Josephine Wangechi, the late Hannah Wangechi and Isabel Wangechi.
She was a loving mother of Susan Mwangi, Dorothy Mwangi, Kirika Mwangi, Douglas Nderitú, Emma Müragüri, Marjory Mburu and Tony Mburu.
She was a cherished grandmother of Joshua, Kena, Ena, Noah, Nduta, Keita, Ngaara and Toria.
She was a beloved sister of the late Rufas King’ori, John Wachira, Bernice Mwangi, Gladstone Githae, Mary Karago, Bancy Nyokabi, David Kariuki, John Wagura, Ann Kiruga, Gerald Githae, Esther Wachira, Johnson Gitahi and Margaret Nderitú.
Sister-in-law of the late Peris Waruguru and Ruheni Muikamba, Samuel Githaiya and Mercy Gitahiya, the late Joyce Gathoni, the late Jane Wamuyu, Francis Mureithi and Nancy Mureithi, the late Nancy Wanjiku, the late Herman Ngari and Jane Ngari, James Irungu, Allan Ngure and Rose Ngure.
Mrs. Cecily Ng’endo Mwangi was a distinguished trade unionist and visionary leader who served as the Secretary General of the Kenya Union of Hair and Beauty Workers (KUHABWO).
Prayers and meetings will be held on Monday, 10th August 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at her home in Nyari Estate, Nairobi.
There will be a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 11th August 2026, at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi.
She will be laid to rest in Githugu, Mukurwe-ini Constituency, Nyeri County, on Thursday, 13th August 2026.
