It is with great sorrow, sadness and humble acceptance of Gods will that the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) Board of Directors, Management and Staff announces the untimely demise of Solomon Ngigi Mburu, which occurred on 8th September, 2025 after a short illness.
The late before his death, was working at Kenya Forestry Research institute (KEFRI)- Nyeri Forestry Research Sub-Centre.
He was son of Mburu Wainaina and the late Virginia Murugi of Githunguchu village- Nyahururu.
Husband of Jane Muthoni, son-in-law of George Waigwa and the late Grace Wanjiru Waigwa of Kangubiri village- Nyeri.
Father of Virginia Murugi, Alice Wanjiru, Robert Mburu, Joyce Wanjiku, Zachariah Waigwa and father-in-law of Samuel Karega, Grandfather of Reann Wanjiru and Neila Muthoni.
Brother of the late Peter Wainaina, Bishop John Njuguna Pst Simon Gichuhi, James Njogu, Rev. George Ndung’u, Rosemary Nyambura, Joseph Kimani, Stephen Karanja, Samuel Waigwa, John Kariuki, Isack Murungi, Mwaniki (Chomba),Tabby Wanjiku and Paul Githugo.
Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in Nyahururu- Githunguchu village near Githunguchu Secondary School for prayers and funeral arrangements.
The cortege will leave Pope Benedict XVI hospital-Nyahururu on Tuesday 16th September, 2025 for funeral service and interment at his home in Nyahururu- Gichunguchu village.
