The Council and Management of Taita Taveta University announce the passing of Professor Wilson Kipruto Cheruiyot who died on 13/02/2026 after a short illness.
Prof.Wilson Kipruto Cheruiyot who until his death was the Dean, School of Science and Informatics, was a dedicated scholar, mentor and leader whose immense contribution to academia, research and community service greatly enriched our University and society at large.
He served with commitment and distinction, leaving a lasting legacy of excellence, integrity and professionalism.
Prof. Wilson Kipruto Cheruiyot is survived by his loving wife Zhao Fang, two children, Miya Chepng’eno and Yangxi Chemutai, as well as his brothers/sisters, David Kipkirui, Lily Chepkoros, Richard Kiplangat, Samwel Kipkoech, Susan Chepkorir Chirchir, Charles Kipsigii and Peter Kipkorir.
He was the son of the late Smart Kipkemoi Kosgei and the late Grace Chepkoech Kosgei of Chebirbelek Village.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday 26/02/2026 at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, Don Bosco Catholic Church, Upperhill, Nairobi from 10:00am – 12:00 pm.
He will be laid to rest on Saturday, 28/02/2026 in Chebirbelek Village, Sotik Subcounty, Bomet County.
