It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Philip Okebiro Ateka on 16th March 2026.
He was the beloved son of the late Edward Ateka and the late Dina Ateka of Mokomoni Village, Sirate sub-Location, Kitutu Masaba, Nyamira and Jericho Lumumba. He was a loving husband of Beth Ateka.
He was an amazing father of Eddie Keagan Nyameino and Elan Isaac Ateka.
Son in-law of Isaac Mumo and Suzana Mumo of Nakuru.
Cherished brother of Jamal Ateka, Gladys Ateka, Stephen Ateka, the late Zippora Ateka Osoro, the late Victor Ateka and Carol Ateka.
Brother in-law of Bernard Mumo.
A loving uncle of Bryant, Abuga, Victor, Dinah Stephanie, Barke, Zainab, Fatma, Ilham, Clara, Michelle, Mokeira, Dalia, Olivia, Isaac.
A loving and adored nephew, cousin and friend to many.
Until his demise Philip worked for ILRI. He previously worked for Ramco Group and Ongata works.
There will be a memorial service at CITAM Buruburu on Tuesday 24th March 2026, starting at 10a.m.
The cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home on Thursday 26th March 2026 at 7.30a.m and proceed home to Mokomoni Village, Nyamira County for an overnight stay.
The funeral service and burial will take place at the same venue on Friday, 27th March 2026, starting at 10.00 a.m.
