It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elder Peter Ondari Bwana on 19th January 2026.
He was devoted husband of Elizabeth Bonareri, a loving father of Deborah Bwana and Crispus Bwana.
Grandfather of Jaiden, Derrick, Daniel, Darren, and David.
Elder Bwana was the son of the late Nicholas Bwana and Norah Mokeira Bwana.
He is fondly remembered by his siblings of the late Arita, Ombachi, Ondicho, Kemunto, Nyangau and Bosibori.
Father-in-law of Robert and Bathsheba. Son-in law of Samuel Onchagwa and Priscilla Momanyi Brother in-law of Eunice, Sarah, Teresa and Gladys, late Enoch, Pacifica, Dinah, David, Lydia, Joyce, Karen, Margret and late Esther.
Semo of Charles, James, Ben, Wilson, late Elias, He was a beloved uncle of Edward, the late Ben, Richard, Nicholas, Kepha, Onesimus, Doreen, Asenath, Faith, Rabera, Oscar, Sandra, Edris and many others.
He served with dedication in various capacities for the East African Union for the Seventh-day Adventist church, the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton and Kamagambo Adventist College.
There will be a funds drive on Tuesday, 27th January 2026 from 5.00 PM at Simba Hall – LMS Building, Nairobi Central SDA Church – Nairobi.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, 28th January 2025, at 2.00pm at the Lavington SDA Church, Nairobi.
The Cortege will leave Umash Funeral home on the 29th Thursday 2026 for the funeral service in Motagara SDA Church and night vigil at home.
The burial service will take place on 30th January 2026 at his homestead in Motagara village, Nyamira County from 9.00am.
