It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mzee Johnson Mbugua Mugo of Riara Ridge, Nazareth, Limuru.
He transitioned peacefully on 22nd March 2026 at MP Shah Hospital after a long illness bravely borne.
He was the son of the late Michael Wamugo and the late Elizabeth Waithera Wamugo.
He was the husband of the late Mary Wanjiru Mbugua, the late Monica Wanjiru Mbugua, and the late Jane Wambui Mbugua.
Brother of John Kiania Mugo, Gabriel Gakuru Mugo, Lucy Wahu, Lilian Mwihaki, the late Nguru Mugo, the late Kiania Mugo, the late Kagwi Mugo, the late Gituru Mugo, and the late Kinuthia Mugo.
Father of David Kiarie, Margaret Waithira, Stephen Muchai, Nancy Waithira, the late Isaac Nguru, Bernard Kiarie, Lucy Njoki, the late George Kimani, David Njihia, Lillian Nyambura, James Nguru, Benedict Njeri, Jane Wahu, Beatrice Mumbi, Jane Wahu, Stephen Kiania, Paul Kiania, John Mwaura, Peter Nganga, and Samuel Mugo.
He was a father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather to many.
Prayer meetings are taking place daily at his Riara Ridge home from 4:00pm.
A memorial service shall be held at PCEA Riara Ridge at 2:00pm on Sunday, 29th March 2026. The body lies at Lee Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at PCEA Riara Ridge on Thursday, 2nd April 2026, from 11:00 am, followed by interment at his farm in Riara Ridge, Limuru, Kiambu County.
