
It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of our beloved Mwalimu Stephen Kaburu M’Ithiri, a respected educator, community leader, and family patriarch, who passed away on 25th December 2025 after a short illness.
He was the son of the late Charity Mwarikia and the late M’Ithiri.
Stephen Kaburu was a devoted husband of Lydia Kananu Kaburu, a firm but loving father of Timothy Kaburu (Meru), Christine Kaburu (Meru), Felix Kaburu (Meru/Nairobi), Purity Kimathi Kaburu (Nairobi), and Ricalda J. Kaburu (Nairobi), and a cherished grandfather of Dennis Karani, Denzel Mutiga, Brian Mwirigi, Brett Mugambi, Solidad Kinya, Shantal Makena, Trevor Gitari, Tremmel Karani, and Nia Njoroge.
He was a treasured brother of Elizabeth Mutimbi (Gachua), the late Joseph Maitima (Rwanyange), Angelo Mwathe (Thuura), Evangeline Mukami (London), and Cecilia Kuri (Rwanyange).
He was also a caring uncle, a loyal friend, and a highly respected teacher and community leader who dedicated his life to education, discipline, faith, and service.
Prayers and comfort services are being held daily from 5:30 p.m. at his home in Angirine Village, Thuura Location, Imenti East Sub-County, Meru County.
The funeral service will be held at MCK Thuura on Friday, 9th January 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at his home in Angirine Village.
