With humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mwalimu Michael Mwaura Kung’u, that occurred on 4 th January 2026. (Retired Lecturer at Kagumo Teachers College and formerly in Thika High School).
He was the adoring son of the late Zachary Kung’u and Mary Wairimu and a loving son-in-law of the late Raphael Kiarie and Lucia Waithera Kiarie (Mwea).
He was a devoted husband of Mwalimu Mary Wangari Mwaura., and a loving father of Robert Kung’u, Grace Wairimu and Faith Waithera.
He was a caring father-in-law of Dennis Kananga Warutere and a proud grandfather of Gian Mwaura, Leena Muthoni Kananga and Brendan Warutere Kananga whom he loved dearly.
He is fondly remembered by his siblings Peter Kihara, the late Joseph Ndai, late John kugeria, Danson Waithaka, Josephine Nduta, Jane Njeri, James Mburu and Geoffrey Gatuna.
He was also a beloved Brother-in-law of Lucy Kihara, Lucy Ndai, Rose Kamau, late Mukami Waithaka, Kamau Daniel, Geoffrey Gitonga and Rose Muthoni.Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are meeting daily at his home Juja C Estate (Kanini B) and Mwea Ngurubani for prayer and funeral arrangements from 5:30pm.
The memorial service will be in St Matthews ACK Juja Church Sunday 11 th January 2026 at 2:00pm.
The cortege will depart from Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home, Kabati, on Tuesday 13th January 2026 at 8:00am, followed by a funeral service at ACK St.James Ngurubani, Mwea at 11:00am, and thereafter burial at his farm Nderwa, Mwea.
