MWALIMU KEPHER WECHULI ROMBOSIA

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mwalimu Kepher Wechuli Rombosia on Tuesday, 7th October 2025.

Born on 30th May 1941 in Chenjeni Village,Matete, Kakamega.

He was the son of the late Josiah Khatievi (Omusekese) and the late Kachpela Wanafubu (Omusang’alo).

He was loving husband of Anne Mutenyo Rombosia, and father of Pitia, Wafula, Simiyu, Barasa, Joshua Rombosia and Rose Musanga.

Father in law of Helen Simwa, Catherine Otido, Roseline Wanja, Anne Moraa, Mercy Njoki and Isaac Namango.

Grandfather of Wesonga, N. Mandela, Shawn, K. Mandela, Nyukuri, Keita, Rachael,  Pauline, Wanda, Makeba, Mutenyo, Erika, Ryan, Seline, Amara, Amalia, and Archie.

He was a brother of late Selina, Loise, Eunice, Songwa, late Mulokoli, Nabwire, Bilika, Jane, Nasimiyu, late Saulo, late Nekesa, Khamala, late Munjalu. Cousin of many and friend of many more.

He taught, mentored and supported many students as Headmaster in Githumu, Njumbi, Kijabe, Nanyuki, Lugari, and Eastleigh Secondary Schools.

A harambee to assist in funeral arrangements will be held on Wednesday 15th October 2025 at his Chenjeni home starting at 2.00pm. (Mpesa 0722 255 789).

The cortege leaves St. Martha’s Funeral Home, Chimoi on Friday, 17th October 2025 at 9:00 a.m. for a funeral service at Chenjeni Friends Church at 10:00 a.m.

The burial will be at his home in Chenjeni Village, Matete, Kakamega County on Saturday, 18th October 2025.
