It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Ms. Purity Makena Ikunda, which occurred on Wednesday, 11th March 2026, while undergoing treatment after a prolonged illness.
Until her demise, she was a dedicated member of staff at the Kenya Veterinary Vaccines Production Institute (KEVEVAPI), serving at Kabete Station Vaccines Production Laboratory.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Agostine Ikunda and the late Monica Gatobu.
Loving mother to Kyryl Kiaan Shujaa. Loving sister of Ellyjoy Gatobu and Ken Gatobu.
She was a dear cousin to Betty Ntinyari, Joseph Kimathi, Cindy Gaicugi, among many others; a cherished niece and a treasured friend to many.
The cortege will leave Nkubu Funeral Home on Friday, 10th April, 2026.
A Funeral Service will be held on the same day, followed by interment at her family home in Kiamugu Village, Upper Kiungone, Abogeta West Ward, Imenti South, Meru County.
