It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of our Matriarch, Mama Wilkista Adhiambo Manyala, which occurred on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Homa Bay Teaching and Referral Hospital.
Mama was the wife of the late Japuonj David Manyala Odhiambo of Kakiimba Village, Mfangano Island.
She was the daughter of the late Mzee Ayoro Ojwalla and the late Maria Ayoro of Lwimi Village, Kaksingri, Central Division, Homa Bay County.
She was sister of the late Arwa Anuro, the late Doris Aura, the late Flermina Odhiambo, Odongo Ayoro, and the late Onyango, and Odhiambo Ayoro.
She was the mother of the late Comm Joseph Odongo Manyala; Elder Doris Otieno (USA); Elder Peter Manyala; Loice Apunda; Jerusa Akeyo (USA); Hon. Elizabeth Manyala-Mbare (Finland); the late Pamela Manyala, Ken Manyala; Lynette Manyala; Tobias Manyala, and George Manyala; the late Grace Achieng; Dr. Bernard Manyala; Rose Otiende; Mwalimu Lameck Manyala; Fred Manyala; Faith and Awino Manyala.
She was a co-wife of the late Rispa Atieno Manyala; Sister in law of the late Dr. P. B. Odhiambo; Mama Jane Odhiambo; Fred Mbeo; the late Elisha Otieno; the late John Owuor; the late Meshack Odhiambo; the late George Ouma; the late Ludia Ogola; the late Pelesia Akeyo Ogweno; the late Teresia Anyango Oguta; the late Herina Ochieng; Damaris Otieno; Dorina Otieno; John Odero, and Margaret Anganyo, among others.
She was mother-in-law of Olivia Odongo; Rose Ogweno; the late Maurice Otieno Mirambo; Senior Chief (Rtd.) Peter Apunda; Mr. Jared Nyauchi; Dr. Otieno Mbare (Finland); Lucy Ochieng; Irene Okomo; Nancy Otieno; Rachel Odhiambo, Hon. Lucy Manyala, Judith and Emily.
She was aunt of Eric Odhiambo, Alvin, Wendy Diero, Carol (UK), Dr. Cliff Odhiambo (USA), Collins, Lucas Onyango, Pius Ochieng, Margaret Onimbo, Lilian, Jane (Fra), Lydia (Fra), Alice (Fra), Betty, Kennedy, the late Doris, Michael Ogweno, Alice Obonyo, John Aura, Zeph Aura, Maureen Aura, Bernard Oketch, Elizabeth Oketch, Nashon, Francis, among others.

A memorial service and funds drive in support of funeral arrangements will be held on Monday, February 23, at Nairobi Central SDA Church from 3:00 PM.
The cortege will leave Med 25 Mortuary, Kirindo, on February 26 for a church service at Manyala SDA Church starting at 10:00 AM.
Burial will take place on February 27, 2026, at her family home in Manyala Village, Kaksingri, Central Division.
Rest in perfect peace, Mama, until we meet at Jesus feet.
