It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of the Lord’s will that we announce the passing on of the late Mama Teresa M’Mbone Obiri which occurred on Tuesday 21st October 2025 at Eldoret Hospital after a short illness.
She was the beloved wife of Councillor Festus Malova Obiri of Bidii Ngazi Farm, Kitale (Transzoia County).
She was the first-born daughter of the late Musa Kayere Kilabondo and Mama Selina Kirima of Gavaragi, Vihiga County.
She was sister of Erika B.M’Mboga and the late Beatrice Galuga Etemiesi.
Co-wife of Mama Lorna Kavulani Obiri. Mother of the late Paul Wayne Obiri, Margaret Angehi Mutiso, the late Prof. John Angoro Obiri, Principal Anne Vuhungi Madegwa, Philemon Hans Obiri, Peter Amiani Obiri (USA), and David Kivuli Obiri.
Step mother of Steven Kabagi, Doreen Angehi, Fred Alunga, Hilda Andeso and Tom Jumba.
Mother–in- law of Alice Shunza, Steve Mutiso, Noelle Shijenje, Bernard Madegwa, Lenah Chepkemoi, Jane Wanjiku (USA) and Pamela Atieno Odawo.
Grandmother of Sammy Amiani, Denver, Monyi, Sandra Andeso, Eugene, Melvin, Tess, Selina Makungu, Keith, Josiah, Philip, Aidi, Nimrod, Mboku, Marvin, Teminah, Alex, Nathan, Eslene, and Erline; Great-great grandmother of Kyle, Alicia, Wayne Seda, Jane Njoki and Bansle, Delcy and Avil, Christian Amiani and Anelia Nyambura.
A requiem mass will be held on Friday 31st October 2025 at Kitale Pentecostal Church (KPC), Section 19 starting at 11.00 am.
Thereafter, the body will be transported to her residence at Bidii Ngazi Farm for an overnight stay.
Burial will take place on Saturday 1st November 2025 at her home in Bidii Ngazi Farm, Kitale (Trans-zoia County).
