It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing on of Mama Elsa Atieno Onyango which occurred on 3rd January 2026 while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
She was thé beloved daughter of the late Simon Gilo and Abysage Oloo of Asembo Nyagoko Siaya County.
Beloved wife of Mzee Mathew’s Onyango Mtere of Sakwa Bondo and daughter in law of Mtere Amlafu and Atek Nyanono.
Sister of late Samuel, Celina, Pamela and Amos among others. Sister In-law of Bishop David Odundo and late Amollo Ogwari. Co-wive of late Philista, Celina, Lorrina, and Alice Mother of Rozemary, Marylinet, George, late Nancy, Dorothy, late Antony, Betty, Caren, Brenda, Albert, Omoso, Regina, Hellen, Margaret, Mary, Feni and Olao among others.
Mother in law of Arina Olum, Moses, Cornel, late Peter Ojuang’, Kevin, Daniel, Andrea, Lilian, Jane, and Perez among others.
She was the treasured grandmother of Elsie, Gilbert, Phanice, Samuel, Juvan, Carson, Ricky, Leslie, Lenox, Fidel, Zanel, Monel, Henry, Kelsey, Rizaldy, Kenzie, Arianna, Mackie, Jackie Alphonce, Erick, Emily, Victor, Egnitious, Carey, among others. An aunt of Simi Dinyal, Akinyi, Judy among others and great grandmother to many. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The cortège leaves Aga Khan Hospital Mortuary Kisumu on Friday 23/1/26 for service at Power of Jesus around the World in Kisumu.
She will be laid to rest on Saturday 24/1/26 at her home in Sakwa Bondo, Nyabenge village led by Arch Bishop Dr Ogonyo Ngede.
