It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of John Francis Steven Obare Tula Magoha, the Patriarch of the Magoha family.
John was a loving husband of Agatha Obare and father of the late Claire Obare, Antony Obare and Veronica Obare.
Grandfather of Marita Obare, Fabian Otto, Michael Obare, Clarence Obare and Paulina Obare. Great grandfather of Tara, Chiwo and Jordan Tula Otto.
He was born of the late Mzee Bernard Boniface Magoha and the late Mama Joan Sara Aloo Magoha of Ahono Village, Ratudi, East Gem.
Brother of the late William Ogola Magoha, the late Consolata Magoha, Mary Owuor, the late Capt. Charles Magoha, the late Michael Magoha, the late Prof. George Magoha, the late Prof. Richard Magoha, Joseph Magoha and Pauline Dola.
He was brother in law of Felistas Ogola, the late Socrates Owuor, Dr.Barbara Magoha, Janet Magoha, Edwina Magoha and the late Tom Dola.
He was son- in- law of the late Fabiano Mahaga and the late Paulina Mahaga of Port Victoria, Budalangi.
He was brother-in-law of Wilbroda Bwire, Joseph Mahaga, Petronilla Nyasiri, the late Dr. Mbaga Mahaga, Mary Mahaga, Gentrix Wanzala, Cammy Mahaga-Ajala, Eng. Donald Mahaga, the late Patrick Mahaga, Anna Mahaga and Maj. (Rtd) Bonny Mahaga amongst others.
Loving nephew of Julius Mbulo Ogola,Theodore Opundo Ogola, Joseph Yiembe Ogola, Maria Mbulo, Margaret Opundo, Dorsila Yiembe, Marsela Awera, Francisca Wadira, Martina Owira, Cecilia Owenga, the late Pauline Anyango, Elizabeth Omore, Alphonse Ndege and Mzee Gwala of Sakwa among others.
He was cousin of Raphael Tuju, Dr. Beatrice Dimba, Noela Oyoo, Morris Owira, George Awandu, Jaggalo Mbulo, George Agutu, Peter Awandu, the late Acheleus Obingo, the late Bernadette Okello, the late Andrew Ogola and Charles Agunga amongst others.
He was uncle of Evelyn Ondego, Alloys Kemo, the late Caroline Magoha, Crystal Magoha, Dr.Michael Magoha, Bernard Magoha, Sam Dola, Alfred Agunga, the Mahagas, Bwires, Nyasiris, Wanzalas and Ajalas amongst others.
Burial will be on 15th November 2025 at Ahono, Ratudi Village in Gem,Yala.
