It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Sonia Nzilani, CECM for Trade, Marketing, Industry, Culture, and Tourism in Makueni County, which occurred on 22nd November 2025.
Dr. Sonia was a devoted and loving mother of Angel Marion Wangui of New Light Academy, Kitengela, and Nelson Mandela.
She was the beloved daughter of James Musyoka Mbwele and the late Grace Wayua Musyoka.
She is survived by her father and siblings Ann Syombua, Robert Muia, and Raphael Muindi.
Dr. Nzilani was a loving aunt to Gladys Kalunde, Shirlyn Wavinya, Caro Mueni, and Leah Musenya, among others and nephews, Justus Muendo, Mike Musyoka and James Muthee among others.
She was equally cherished by her aunts Wamaitha and Martha, and her uncles Muthiani Mutiso, Paul Mutiso, and Stephen Obed.
Dr. Sonia Nzilani lived a life defined by service, humility, and unwavering dedication. She touched countless lives with her warm spirit, her passion for environmental stewardship, and her steadfast commitment to her family, community, and County.
She will be laid to rest on 29th November, 2025 in Makindu, Makueni County. Meetings are currently ongoing in Nairobi, Makindu,Wote and Masaku Ndogo.
