It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden passing of Dr. Martina Mutheu Mulwa–Nyakundi, which occurred on Friday, 27th February 2026 at Nairobi West Hospital.
Beloved wife of George Nyakundi, loving mother of Alastair and Kylie, daughter of the late David Mulwa and Teresia Mulwa, and sister of Victoria, the late Lucas, Christine, Martin, Mark, Anne, Marian, Kevin and Mathias.
Dr. Martina was a Senior Lecturer at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Nairobi, a distinguished scholar and mentor whose work in communication, financial inclusion and ICT for development impacted many lives.
Funeral arrangements:Viewing will be held on Friday, 6th March 2026 at 8:00 AM at Montezuma Funeral Home, followed by Requiem Mass at 10:00 AM at Fatima Catholic Church, Ongata Rongai; the body will proceed to Emali, Nguu for overnight vigil, with funeral service and burial on Saturday, 7th March 2026 at the family residence.
