It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Dr. Edith Muthoni Ngatia, Senior Lecturer at University of Nairobi Dental School on 23rd January 2026.
The late Dr. Edith M. Ngatia was the wife of Dr. Stephen Ngatia Njogu of Kahawa Sukari Estate, Nairobi.
Mother of Alex and Daisy Jeruto Njogu, Bancy Mwihaki, John and Judith Mwende Mugo.
She was daughter of the late John Mugo Ngumba and late Hannah Wangari Mugo of Kigogo-ini Village, Tetu, Nyeri.
She was sister of Charles Ngumba, Winfred Ng’endo Wambugu, late Phoebe Wangechi Mutana, Grace Kanyi Chomba, Leah Nyagatuhi, Martha Waihu-ini Mugo, David Kahihu, late Gidraf King’ori and Eva Wairimu.
She was grandmother of Leila Muthoni Njogu.
Prayer meetings are being held at their family home in Nairobi on Monday and at PCEA St. Andrews Church on Tuesday starting at 5.00pm and daily at their family home in Giakaibei Village, Mathira East Sub County.
There will be a memorial service at PCEA St. Andrews Church on Wednesday 28th Jan 2026 starting at 2.00 pm.
The cortege leaves KU Referral Funeral Home on Friday 30th Jan 2026 at 7.00 am, for the burial service at PCEA Giakaibei Church starting at 10.00 am and thereafter interment at their home at Giakaibei Village, Mathira East Sub County, Nyeri.
Edith has fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith
