It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of our beloved patriarch, freedom fighter, and elder, Christopher Njora Muronyo, fondly known as “General Kiambati”, a Mau Mau Veteran.
He was the son of the late Muronyo Mukunga and the late Wanjiru wa Murenga (Watoro), and stepson of the late Wakuthii Ngure.
He was the beloved husband of the late Naomi Muthoni Kiambati.
He was a loving father of Suleiman Mwaniki, Lydia Wanjiru, Wilson Kiambati (Media Masters), the late Martin Kinyua, Samuel Mwangi, Pastor Jeremiah Miano, Harun Waweru, John Mwai, Emily Muthoni, and Eunice Njeri.
He was brother of the late Kinyua Muronyo, the late Eunice Wanjeri, the late Mariko Ngunju, and the late Alois Miano.
He was a proud grandfather of Moses Kiambati (Dimension Media), Christopher Njora, Danis Njega, Chris Wanjiru, the late Brian Kiambati, Naomi Karimi, Elizabeth Wanjiku, Naomi Mwangi, Jane Mwangi, Wanjiru Samuel, Alvin Mutwiri, Mwangi Samuel, Bonyo Mwangi, Kelvin Nyutu, Patrick Chin Chin, Judy Mahehu, Nancy Mumbi, Stacy Wairimu, Chris Waweru, Taryn Maina, Naomi Muthoni, the late Ema Karimi, Michael Njogu, Teddy Muiruri, Blessings Miano, Joy Miano, Emmanuel Miano, Kelsey Makena, Joe Waweru, Ted Ng’ang’a, Maina Njeri, Wilson Maina, Victor Mwaniki, Naomi Njeri, Alvin Mwai, Mukami Mwaniki, Beatrice Ng’endo, Mwangi Mwaniki, Maina Miano, Precious Miano, and Angel Muthoni, and 14 great-grandchildren.
He leaves behind a rich legacy of courage, humility, and dedicated service to the nation.
Family meetings are being held at Upper Hill Springs, Nairobi, and at his home in Ngorika Village, Nyandarua County.
The cortege will depart from Umash Funeral Home, Nakuru, on 14th February 2026 for burial at his home in Chamuka Village, Ngorika, Nyandarua County.
