It is with heavy hearts and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of our beloved Christine Wanjiku Mururu, who, after a courageous battle with illness, has gone to rest in the arms of her Heavenly Father.
She was the loving wife of Dr. Joseph Mururu (late), and devoted daughter of Diffatha Mbogo Wamai (late) and Justa Rwamba Mbogo (late).
She was the step daughter of Veronica Wandia Mbogo. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Hilda Gacheri, Lillian Wanjugu, and Stella Kathambi; her sons-in-law, Paul James Karanu and Brian Mbaabu; and her cherished grandchildren, Maxwell and Mason.
Christine was a beloved sister of Aloisia Marigu, James Njeru Mbogo (late), Lewis Muriithi (late), Patrick Nyaga, Emilio Njue, Francis Gichovi (Muthee), Lydia Njoki (late), and Mary Muthoni Nthiga, and a step-sister of Wegandu (late), Njeru Wamae Sr., Ngari, Cecily, Gatavi, Wanjuki, Hellena, and Festo. Christine was a beloved aunt to many nephews and nieces, and a most loving grand-aunt to her many grandchildren.
She shared life as a co-wife with Rose Kamami Mururu, and was a devoted stepmother of Morris Mwenda (late), Kelly Murithi, Timothy Kubai, Jesca Kajuju, and Emma Kinya.
Meetings are ongoing at the Mururu family residence in Laare, Meru, and at the Nyaga Mbogo Wamai residence in Mutira Village, Embu.
She will be laid to rest on Friday 30th January, 2026 in Mutira Village, Makengi, Embu.
