It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Capt. Patrick Joseph Karimi (Rtd.), who rested on Thursday, 29th January 2026.
He was the beloved son of the late Matheri Kwirikia and the late Ruth Wanjiku Matheri.
A devoted husband of Margaret Gathoni Karimi, loving father of Stanley Matheri, Antony Thige, Dr. Judith Wanjiku (USA), Catherine Nyambura (USA), and Michael Njenga (USA), and cherished grandfather of Daviyon (USA), Nathan (USA), and Ethan.
He was brother of Grace Nyangugi Ndigithe (Rironi) and James Njenga (Marigi), and step-brother of Peter Matere, Jane Nyandemwa Mwatha, Charles Wairagi, Eunice Mumbi Mbiraru, Pastor David Boro, the late Peter Njenga, Simon Njenga, and Stephen Kabucho, among others.
He was also a son-in-law of the late Thige Mbuciri and late Gladys Nyambura Thige.
Family and friends are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at his home in Ngecha, Limuru and at their residence in, Buru Buru Phase 1, from 6.00 p.m.
The funeral cortege will leave Kenyatta University Referral Hospital Mortuary on Friday, 6th February 2026 at 8.00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at ACK St. Stephen’s Mahinga Church at 11.00 a.m.
Thereafter, interment will take place at his home in Ngecha (Mbari ya Igi).
