It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alfred Aloo Odanga of Orongo Village, Kano, Kisumu which occurred on 30th December 2025 after a long illness bravely borne.
He was the beloved husband of the late Judith Akinyi Olewe of Seme, Kopudo.
Son of the late Mzee Dishon Aloo Odanga and the late mama Rosebella Ayieko Aloo of Kasule Kisumu.
Loving father of Rosebel Achieng Aloo (Bristol Park Hospital), Ellen Anyango Aloo (USA), Maureen Sande Aloo (Simplepay Capital Ltd), Grace Aluoch Aloo (Pascal Satori – AU), Noella Ayuggi, Brenda Ayuggi, Jeffrey Ayuggi and Roseline Auma.
Grandfather of Alfred Marlen Aloo, Judy Mainye, Adriel Mainye, Sophia Imani, Emmanuel, Caleb, Sam, Val, Laura, Leroy and many others.
He was the loving brother of the late Eliud Agolla, the late Engineer Caleb Ayuggi, the late Damaris Masawa, the late Adonijah Sule and the late Samson Akumu.
He was the son in law of the late mzee John Olewe and the late mama Hellen Amimo of Seme, Kopudo.
In law of mama Clarice Agolla, Jane Okumu, Pamela Sule, the late Wilson Masawa, Professor Ochieng K’Olewe (USA), Lilian Akoth, Wycliffe Otieno (formerly of ABSA Bank), the late Janet Adhiambo Ooko, Joyce Anyango Ng’ong’a (UN), Deborah Olewe (USA) and Godfrey Ochieng (USA).
He was the loving uncle of Rose Masawa, George Masawa, Dan Masawa, Karen Masawa, Emily Masawa, Grace Masawa, the late Adon Okumu, Allan Okumu, Willis Odhiambo, Amos Agolla, Jared Agolla, Dick Agolla, Eunice Agolla, Francis Ochieng, Christine Agolla, Bev Ooko and Jeff Ooko.
Alfred was a loving father-in-law of Kepha Ongiri, John Odindi, John Onyango and Keith Tanner (USA).
Friends and family are meeting for prayers and funeral arrangements daily at his home in Umoja One until Thursday 15th January 2026.
The funeral mass will be held at ACK St Lukes Umoja on Thursday 15th January 2026 at 2.00pm.
The cortege leaves Umash funeral home on Friday January 16th for another funeral mass at ACK St Emmanuel Church Orongo the same day at 3.00pm.
The burial will take place on Saturday 17th January 2026 at Orongo Village, Kisumu County starting at 9:30 a.m.
