It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy (Tod) Wambani Mukhebi (formerly of AWARD) on Wednesday, 10th June 2026, in Nairobi, Kenya, after a short illness. Dorothy was known for her compassion, generosity, vibrancy, and unwavering empathy.
A cherished daughter of the late Senior Chief Jonathan and Ruth Barasa, devoted wife of Professor Adrian Wekulo Mukhebi, loving mother of the late Brian Murumba Barasa, Vanessa and Aaliyah Mukhebi, and a beloved stepmother of Evans Mukhebi, Eileen Dena, Emmy Kidenda, Evelyn and Thomas Mukhebi.
Dorothy was dear sibling of the Barasa family—Wycliff (late), Alice, Dr Richard Barasa, Sam (late), John-Murc, Solomon, Wilson, Margaret, and Theresa.
She was also a dear cousin, aunt, niece, colleague, and friend to many.
A fundraising meeting will take place at Nairobi Club, Makuti Hall, Nairobi, Kenya on Tuesday, 16 th June 2026 at 5:00pm.

- Memorial service: Wednesday, 17 th June 2026 at 3 pm at Nairobi Chapel, Ngong Road, Nairobi, Kenya
- Cortege Departure:Thursday, 18 th June 2026 from Montezuma Funeral Home, Nairobi to the family home in Musikoma, Bungoma.
- Transition: On 19th, the body will be moved to the family home at Namatotoa Village, Bungoma
- Burial Service: Saturday, 20th June 2026 at Namatotoa home, Bungoma, Kenya
