It is with great shock and acceptance of God’s Will that we announce the passing on of our beloved Stephen Gitahi Nderitu alias Fai/Jolly Boy after a short illness on 30th May 2026.
Son of the late Isaack Nderitu Gitahi (Jolly Boy) and the late Anne Njoki Nderitu of Kagongo Sub-Location, Chinga Location, Othaya Sub-County, Nyeri County.
Brother of Stella Wanjiku Nderitu (USA), Anthony Theuri Nderitu and Winfred Muringi Theuri. Husband of Judy Wanjiru Mwaniki.
Father of Isaack Nderitu, Shakira Njoki, Shirleen Njoki, Shawn Nderitu and Imani Wacheke.
Brother-in-law of Maryann, Wambugu, Nderebe, Emmah, Muriuki and Linet.
Son-in-law of Michael Mwaniki and Esther Mwaniki of Gathumbi, Iria-ini Ward, Othaya. Grandson of the late Gitahi Mugo (Carry One), Miriam Wanjiku Gitahi, the late Margaret Gitahi of Kagongo Chinga, the late Theuri (Kanyari) and the late Abija Theuri of Kianjwe Othaya. Nephew of Mugo, Mugai, Nyaguthii, Wangui, DM Gitahi,Wambugu, Kariuki, Kibe,Thang’a Kanyari, Kihato, Ngotho, Kinyua,Wairimu,Wangari and Wanjiku, among many others.
He was uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Family, friends and relatives are meeting daily for prayers and burial arrangements at his home Harambee Sacco Estate Donholm daily and the final meeting will be held today Monday 8th June 2026 at All Saints Cathedral – St. Mathew’s Hall,opposite the restaurant at 5:00pm.
Cortege will leave Lee funeral home on Wednesday 10th June 2026 at 6.30am for funeral service at Chinga Community Grounds at 11.00am.
Thereafter, the burial ceremony will be held at his Chinga home at 2.00pm.
