It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of retired teacher Richard Nyabeta Okindo which occurred on 24th May 2026 after long illness.
He was the son of the late Okindo Ngoge and Kemunto Okindo of Bonyamasicho, Ikarango, Emeroka Sub-location, Nyaribari Masaba, Masaba South Sub-County.
He was a loving husband of Mary Nanyama Nyabeta and Wilkister Nyanchoka Nyabeta.
He was a brother of the late Stephen Ngoge, Jackson Mongare, Mongina, Teresa, Milka, Kerubo and Maria, Nyakanguru, Okindo, Nyaboke, Ogucha, Nyamusi, Mokeira and Rebecca.
He was a loving and caring father of Principal James Wanyonyi, Geoffrey Okindo, Engineer Ronald Kenyansa, Denis Okindo, Alphine Gisige, the late Erick Kenyansa and Caroline Barongo, Beatrice Mogiti, Everlyne Mokeira, Nancy Bonareri, Vicky, Judy, Nancy, Betty, Janet and Esther.
He was a cousin of Ogero & Mong’are, Oira, Nyabeta, Maranga, the Ratemo’s, Zablon Nyachunchunga, Isaac Oenga, Senior Retired Chief Keana, the late Hon.Simeon Nyachae and others.
He was an Uncle of; the late Charles Mongare, Ronald Okari, Kenyansa, Musa, Nyakundi, Simeon, the late Zablon, Mary, Hellen, Okari Oira (TZ), Matundura (Abagusii culture) Charles Maranga (former Councillor), Deputy Governor Kisii County Hon. Obebo, late Nyakeramba, late Ombaki and others.
He was a beloved grandfather of Calvin, Edith, Naomi, George, Jabez, Jemima, Maggy, Victoria, Charles, Aboko, Hosea, Obama, Maggy, Hyvone, Barrack, Kristian, Mary, Nyabeta Junior, Ezekiel, Peter, Samuel, Happiness, Kenzy, Hemmy, chairman Paul Ombaki, Miguel and great grandfather of Giovanni, Precious, Dylan and others.
He was a loving Father-in-law of Stella, Rose, Doreen, Ogoti, Mogaka, Tom, Pastor Nyakundi, Willychester, Tabitha, Dr.Christopher Opiyo.
He was a loving brother-in-law of the Sinja’s, Sichangi’s, Meka’s, Charles Omari, Milkah, Rael and others.
The cortege will leave Pandya Memorial Hospital Mombasa on 3rd June 2026.
The funeral will be held on 5th June 2026 at Ikarango Bonyamasicho village of Kiamokama Ward.
