It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Nelson Muthathai Kamau (Nelle), which occurred on Sunday, 3rd May 2026, through a tragic road accident in Meru Town.
He was the beloved son of David Karega Kamau and Catherine Wanjiru Kamau of Gituamba Village, Kinyona Sublocation.
Brother of Juliet Esther Wairimu (Metropolitan Hospital), Allan Karega (Mwalimu National), and John Mwangi. Grandson of the late Nelson Kamau Wanyaga and Esther Wairimu Kamau (Wa Ngugi) of Gatumbi Village, Kigumo Sub County.
Nelle was a cherished nephew of the Karega family of Gacharage Sublocation, Muiria Village, and to Andrew Kim ((Equity Bank); & Roselyn, Samuel Mwangi (SOJA)& Hellen Njeri; Anthony Wanyaga (AP, Kakuma)& Salome, Suzzy, Gakio and Eunice Njeri.
He was cousin of Allan Karega (Brookside Kasarani), Paul Gathea (Nyandarua County),Allan Karega (Kigumo Travellers Sacco),Albright Kidaha, Nelson Mwangi, Nelson Wanyaga, Esther Kimani.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his father’s home in Gituamba Village and at Uncle Andrew Kim’s residence in Utawala, Corradini Estate.
The cortege leaves Montenzuma Funeral Home, Kabati on Saturday, 16th May 2026 for funeral service and burial at Murang’a County, Kigumo Sub County, Kinyona Location, Gituamba Village.
Nelle’s kindness, laughter, and love will remain with us always. We trust that God has welcomed him into eternal rest beyond the pain of this world.
