It is with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that the Deya family announces the passing on of our beloved Evelyn Millicent Akoth Deya. (Eva), on 22nd March 2026 in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA following a long illness.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Duncan Ojijo Deya and Dorothy Martha Deya of Pap K’Onyango Orato, K’Ogweno Oriang’ in Karachuonyo and a cherished sister of Donald, Edna, Charles, Harris, Julie and Allan Deya. Niece, cousin, aunt, grandmother, and friend to many.
Family and friends within Kenya are meeting daily for prayers and arrangements at the family residence in Buru Buru Estate, Phase 4, House Number 832 (Ngutu Court off Amasya Crescent).
There will be a memorial service in Raleigh on Saturday, 4th April 2026 at Neema Gospel Church, 4509 Bland Road Raleigh NC (will be live-streamed 7.00-9.00 pm Kenyan Time).
On the kenyan side the memorial service will be held on Thursday, 9th April at CITAM Buruburu, starting from 3:00 pm.
A memorial service will also be held in Kendu Bay, Karachuonyo on Sunday, 12th April 2026.
