It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of our beloved Matriarch Mama Margaret Awuor Ooko which occurred on 26th March 2026.
Daughter of the late Kalara Agutu and the late Afundho Okoth. Sister of the late Lucas Otieno, the late Richard Ragot, the late William Fuani, the late Dismas Mwanda, the late Rosalia Muhando, the late Patricia Opiyo, and the late Magdaline Arianda.
She was the loving wife of the late Pascal Ooko Ogudo with whom they were blessed with seven children, the late Charles Owoko, George Ooko, Rosemary Ooko, Samuel Ooko, the late Peter Juma Ooko, Dr. James Ooko and Hellen Ooko.
Co-wife of the late Mama Maria Nyaumba Ooko and Mama Alice Aloo Ooko.
Step mother of Dominic Ooko, the late Lucia Ooko Onyango, Stephen Owoko, Florence Ooko, Denis Ooko, Veronica Okello, the late Mary Ooko, Susan Ooko, Linet Ooko, the late Millicent Ooko, the late lrine Ooko & the late Alvin Ooko. Mother in law of Maurine Midwa, Moses Ndire, Caren Adang, Lizbeth Adoncan, Dr Margaret Otieno, Barnabas, Peter, Maureen & Sylvia.
Grandmother of Claudia, Claire, Clara, Stephany, Noel, Joy, Linda, Stepherny, Pascal, Charles, Marlon, Dean, Melissa, Joy Akinyi, Corazon, Ray, Ian, Micky, Lloyd, Marjorie, Nicole, William, Stella, Kevin, Erick, Leon, Roman, Stacy, Serine, Chantal and Jadi, Great grandmother of Logan.
In law of the late Peter Midwa, Amelia Midwa, the late Francis Ndire, Wilikista Ndire, the late Andrew Adang, the late Claris Adhiambo, Adoncan Njagi & Emily Muthoni.
The cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home on the 6th April 2026.
Funeral service and burial will take place on Tuesday 7th April 2026 at her home in Rabar, West Alego, Siaya County.
