It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Benson Njuguna Kariuki, formerly of the Teacher’s Service Commission, on 6th March 2026, after a long illness.
He was the son of the late Michael Kariuki Wakaba (Murai) and the late Jerusha Muthoni of Kabatini Village in Engashura, Ndundori Ward, Nakuru North Constituency.
He was a brother of the late James Wakaba, the late Mary Wambui, Alice Njeri, Moses Maina and Stephen Mwangi.
Benson was the beloved husband of Prof. Felicita Wanjiru Njuguna of Kenyatta University and the loving father of Stella Muthoni, Michael Kariuki and Nicholas Murigi.
He was also a proud grandfather of Jeanmarie, Joshua, Abigael, Caleb, Gedion and Tamara.
He was a brother-in-law of the late Jemima Wakaba, Veronica Mburu, Felister Wangari, the late Dominic Ngigi, Joyce Maina, Nancy Mwangi, the late Florence Waithira and George Muiruri.
Family and friends are meeting daily at 5:30 p.m. at the family residence in Juja, Riverside Estate, Gatundu Road, House No. 39.
A memorial service to celebrate his life and legacy will be held on 15th March 2026 at PCEA Kahawa West at 3 p.m.
The cortege will leave Kenyatta Memorial Funeral Home, Northern Bypass, Kahawa West on 17th March 2026 at 8 a.m.
The funeral service will follow at PCEA Kahawa West at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Kanini Farm, Juja, Kiambu County.
