It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Prof Patrick Ochieng Digolo on 7th March 2026.
He was the son of the late Mr Mathias Ochieng, the late Mama Magdalena Ajwang & Monica Atieno of Siaya County, Ulaf sub-county.
Beloved husband of Prof. Beatrice Digolo of Kenyatta University. Loving father of Peter Digolo of USA, Dr Lina Digolo, Jonas Digolo & Absalom Digolo in Nairobi.
A dedicated brother of Silfanus Odima, Dolfin Ngesa, Benson Okoth, Marianna Opwapo, the late Rosa Olof, Rosebella Aluoch, Florence Anyango, Roseline Ochieng, Dennis Otieno, Maurice Oduor & Mariko Oduor amongst others.
He was an amazing cousin, uncle, friend & teacher to many.
Prof Digolo had a distinguished career and has played a crucial role in educational development in Kenya. He was also a prolific writer who derived much joy from teaching the world about Luo traditions & cultures.
His legacy of warmth, integrity & service remain firmly embedded in all who had the pleasure to know him.
Daily meetings are being held at his home in Nairobi.

Funeral services shall be held at All Saints Cathedral Nairobi on Wednesday 18/03/2026 at 2pm & St Peter’s Cathedral Siaya Thursday 19/03/2026 at 3pm.
The burial shall take place at his home in Ulaf, Siaya on Friday 20/03/2026.
