It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Martina Kidisa Righa of Saghaighu village, Bura location, Mwatate Sub-county, Taita Taveta County. M

artina Righa was the daughter of the late Mwalimo Mwalasha and Mghambi Mwaizambula. She was the beloved wife of the late Robbin Righa.

She had nine children: the late Silvana Mghambi, Odilia Eghwa, the late Rophus Mwalimo, Thomas Tole, Sophiana Wawuda, William Mwagodi, Crispin Mwaizele (Engineer- Company 748 Air Services Ltd) , Donatha Chari, (Deputy commandant National Police College Main Campus Kiganjo) and Margaret Mcheghu.

Martina was a beloved sister of the late Mghoi Mwalimo, the late Jennifer Wali, the late Lydia Mawondo and the late William Mwambisi.

She was a beloved mother-in-law of Luciana Tole, Gladys Mwaizele (Kenyatta High school) and Joyce Mwagodi.

She was a mother-in law of Hammerton Msagha, Charles Madeda, Douglas Mbatia (KPS), Geoffrey Mayek (Commandant Railways and Ports Police) and Senator Taita Taveta County Hon. Jones Mwaruma.

Martina had 42 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

The cortege left Umash Funeral Home on Monday 9th February 2026 for Ikanga Hospital Mortuary Voi.

The cortege will proceed to the family’s residence at Saghaighu village on Friday 13th February 2026 at 2.00pm for a night vigil.

The burial and fare well service will take place on 14th February 2026 at Kidaya Saghaighu primary school Mwatate Sub-county, Bura location.
