It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maurice Muthomi Kungutia of Maua, Meru, which occurred on 1st February 2026.
Maurice was the beloved son of Editah Ncororo and the late Cyprian Kungutia.
He was the loving husband of Jane Wambui, Deputy Head of Institution, Itumi, and a devoted father to Tracy Mwende, of Siakago Girls High School.
He was son-in-law to Lawrence Migwi and Fraciah Wanjiru. Maurice was a cherished brother to Fridah Karwirwa, David Acieta, Gilbert Kariuki, Eric (Henry) Mutuma, Alex Mwiti, Benson Mugambi, and George Kaiyongi.
The funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, 7th February 2026, at Maua Catholic Church.
The cortege will leave Nyambene Level 4 Hospital Mortuary at 10:30 AM for the church, after which burial will take place at Gitura/Kiluli village, Maua.
We give thanks for the life we shared with Maurice. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
