
It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Prof. Donald Namasaka Siamba, which occurred on 24th January 2026 at Hopkins Hospital after a short illness.
Prof. Donald Namasaka Siamba was born in Nyange Village, Sikhendu Sub location, Maeni Location, Kamkuywa Division of Kimilili Subcounty in Bungoma County to David Siamba Namasaka (Omubichachi), Mama Grace Nasimiyu (Omumbacha), Mama Margret Nabifwo (Omuechalo) (stepmother), all deceased.
He was the beloved husband of Dr. Rispah Nasimiyu Namasaka (Kibabii University), a loving father of Purity Namasaka Siiku (Strathmore University), Sharley Namarome Namasaka (ADS Western), Ted Wekesa Namasaka (Alupe University), and Jeremiah Wafula Namasaka, and a proud grandfather of Darian Nyongesa Siamba. He was a nephew of Nyongesa Sanduku, and cousin of Hon. Wycliffe Wepukhulu and Hon. Andrew Kutitila (MCA Sikhendu).
Prof. Siamba was a brother of James Wekesa, Emmanuel Nyongesa, Mathews Wangila, Norah Nasiumbu, Jophina Nasipwondi, and Betora Nafula (all deceased), and of Francis Waliula, Juliet Nafula, Jackline Nelima, Silvya Namalwa, John Wanambisi, Jerotine Naliaka, Tobias Sitati, Jairo Wanyonyi, and Ahmed Biketi.
He was a cousin of Patrick Chaka, Jacob Wanyonyi, John Lusweti, Silvya Sitawa, Goleta Lumonya, Agnes Naliaka, Richard Wafula, Rashid Wafula, Prof. Henry Mukonambi, Amb. Edward Namasaka Bwisa, Wilson Webi (Bichachi National Chairman), Wanyonyi Bwisa, Cosmus Chaka, and Pauline Nakhumicha, among others.
He was a son-in-law of Mzee Julius Wepukhulu Saratuki (Omukimwei) (late) and Mama Racheal Prichani (Omukwangwa).
He was a brother-in-law of Joseck Prichani, Isaac Prichani, Jeremiah Prichani (late), David Barasa Prichani, Edward Prichani (late), Benard Wepukhulu, Samson Prichani (Pastor), Ann Wawire, Gladys Mukhwana, and Juliet Simiyu.
He was Basakwa of John and Elizabeth Sangura and Joseph and Josephine Kisindai, Boaz Wawire, Ruben Mukwana, and Mourice Simiyu, and father-in-law of Dabrat Nekesa Sangura and Johnstone Siiku Kisindai. He was also a guardian and Uncle of Many.
A fundraiser will be held on Wednesday, 4th February 2026, at his home in Maeni from 10.00 am.

The procession leaves Delight Funeral Home at 11.00 am on 6th February 2026 for a church service at Maeni Yearly Friends Church then to his home.
On Saturday, 7th February 2026, the procession leaves Home to the Funeral Service Venue at 9:00 am.On arrival, there will be a church service from 10:00 am.
This will then be followed by speeches and tributes from family, friends, and colleagues, before the final rites and burial.
