It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Mama Gaudensia Omedo Obewa of Mariwa village, Awendo Sub-County, Migori County, on 21st January 2026. She was wife of Dismas Obewa and co-wife of the Mama Christina Amolo Obewa (all deceased).
Cherished mother of Martin Otieno (late), Joan Ochieng, Charles Obewa, Samuel Omondi, Raphael Obewa, David Obewa, John Paul, Susan Atieno, Ben Owuor, George Okoth, and Edward Ouma.
Daughter of Bernard Yier Sawo and Magdalina Ahono Yier (all deceased) of Usoma Village, Kisumu County.
Adored grandmother of Raymond (late), Ian, Wendy, Lloyd, Keisar, Mitchelle, Griffin, Messi, Glen, Trevor, Chloe, Adrian, Bradley, Joy, Lawrence, Sean, Dylan, Kimberly, Tyronne, Serena, Ryan, Bryiah, Eleanor, Einstern and Alianna. Great grandmother of Nicholas and Jovanni.
Mother-in-Law of Joseph Ndhune, Esther, Carolyne Omitto, Pauline, Vivian Wekesa, Dorisila, Lilian and Sherine.
Prayer meetings are being held daily at the family home in Mariwa and at the residence of David and Vivian Wekesa in Ngong.
Friends and family will meet on Saturday 31st January 2026 from 2.00 PM at the United Kenya Club to support the funeral arrangements.

There will be a Requiem Mass on Friday 30th January 2026 at the Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Karen, starting from 2.00 PM.
The Cortege leaves Rosewood Funeral Home, Rongo on Wednesday 4th February 2026 at 12.00 PM for Mass at St. Martin de Porres Ulanda Catholic Parish, starting at 2.00 PM. Thereafter, the body will be moved to the family home for overnight vigil.
Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday 5th February 2026 at the family home in Mariwa, starting at 9.00 AM, followed by interment.
