It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Valerie Nduta Waweru Mutua. Valerie was the beloved wife of Clement Mutua Muendo.

She was the daughter of Stanley & Jayne Waweru Gichuru and daughter-in-law of Arch.Cosmas Maweu & Mary Muendo.

A cherished sister of James & Grace Gathui Nguyo, and sister-in-law of Mercy Muendo, Dr. Catherine Nzisa Muendo, Grace Muendo and Josemaria Muendo.

A dear sister-cousin of Grace Mbugua (Big), Lawrence Njoroge, Josephine Mbugua, Zacharia Kairu, George Gichuru, Grace Wambui (Tiny), Njoroge Mungai, Barbra Nduta, & Georgina Nduta, and a sister-friend of Ciku Ngugi, Phyllis Webi, Micheal Sakka & Isaiah Kulova.

A loving aunt & mother at heart to Lakeisha Njoki, Mwihaki Njoroge, Kihanda Njoroge, Gakubia Njoroge, Njeri Gathui, Mimo Gathui, Zendaya Muthoni, Adam Nyoike, Jimmy Ngugi, Sere Webi, Ela Webi, Jayden Kimathi, Zara Kimathi,Anita Murugi,Avram Mbuthia, Matthias Lekan & Christian Odhiambo.

A doting granddaughter of the late George & Grace Gakubia, & Grace Nduta Gitau.

beloved niece of Peter Mungai, Mary Njambi, Elvis Nganga, and Peter Gitau.

Valerie worked at After Six Africa and was the Project Lead Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon.

She was cherished and beloved by many friends, colleagues and relatives.

Family and friends are meeting at PCEA St. Andrews Old Church, Nairobi at 5.00pm from Tuesday 27th January, 2026 to Thursday 29th January 2026.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home (Raila Odinga Way, Nairobi) on Saturday, 31st January 2026, at 7:30am for the Requiem Mass to be held at Consolata Shrine, Westlands, starting at 10:00am. A private cremation will follow thereafter.

Romans 14:8 “For if we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord; so then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.”
