We are very saddened to announce the sudden passing on of Major (Dr) Alex Muriithi Gakonya of Kenya Defence Forces which occurred on Wednesday, 21st January 2026.
He is the son of John Reuben Gakonya and Mary Njoki Gakonya.
He is a brother of the late Peter Ruoro Gakonya, Esther Muthoni Gakonya, Isaac Ng’ethe Gakonya, Milka Nyambura Gakonya, Wanjiru Gakonya, Lawrence Mwangi Gakonya, Catherine Wangui Gakonya, the late Boniface Njogu Gakonya and Lucy Wothaya Gakonya.
Father of Mary Njoki Muriithi, Reagan Gakonya Muriithi and Liam Nderitu Muriithi.
He will be laid to rest on Friday, 30th January 2026 at his parent’s home in Mathakwa West Village, Mirangine Sub-county, Nyandarua County.
