It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Merciline Lina Oyier on 23/12/2025 at Avenue Hospital, Kisumu.
Until her death, she was the Head of Programs at the African Centre for Women, Information and Communications Technology (ACWICT).
The body is preserved at Avenue Hospital Mortuary.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Nicodemus Oyier Shidho and Mama Hellen Oyier.
She was a sister of Tom Oyier, Guytano Oyier, Roberts Miguna. Her sisters are: Eunita Adoyo, Cornelia Adhiambo.
Merciline was a sister-in-law of Gladys Oyier, Jane Guytano, Sophia Odiere, Doreen Walter and Mary Odiere.
Her uncles are: Elmada Ottawa,Walter Ottawa and Edward Ottawa.
Merciline was an aunt of Sheryl Mboya, Gift Mboya, Emmanuel Mboya and Nicole Hellen.
There are daily hybrid meetings at Public Service Club in Kisumu.
The cortege leaves Avenue Hospital Mortuary on Wednesday 14/01/2026 at 10.00AM to her ancestral home in Central Bala Sub-location, Nyatike North Sub-county near Tuk School in Migori County.
