It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mrs. Janet Atieno Omondi, who went to be with the Lord on 30 November 2025 after a short illness.
She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Omondi Mbago and a loving mother to Elizabeth Awuor (USA) and the late Maureen Atieno.
She is survived by siblings Rita Onyango, Isaac Omolo and Fredrick Onyango, and was sister of the late Mary Adero and the late George Oketho.
Sisters and brothers-in-law include Carlos, Stephen, Martha, Cellestine, Mildred, Pius Mbago, Prof. Wanyande, Anne Onyango, Eng. Joster Onyango, Jackline Omolo, the late Gabriel Owino, the late Peter Mbago, the late Roselyne Mbago and the late Emily Odhiambo.
She was also aunt of Julius, Lilian, Sammy, Jesse, Winnie, David, Roseline, Elsie, Roslida, Ogido, Maureen, Caroline, Clair, Oscar, Edna, Elias, Valentine and many others.
The cortege will depart Matibabu Funeral Home, Ukwala at 11:00 am to St. Peter’s ACK Nyaluoyo for a requiem mass, then proceed to her home at Mauna for an overnight vigil.
Burial ceremony will take place on 20 December 2025, starting at 10:00 am at Mauna, Karadolo Sub-Location, Ugenya.
Family and friends are meeting daily at her residence on Kunde Road, Lavington for prayers and funeral arrangements.
