It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mwalimu Joseph Mwaniki Donatoh, which occurred on 12th December 2025.
He was born in 1951 in Ruruguti, Othaya to the late Emelesiana Wangui and Donatoh Mbetera.
He was a loving husband of Elizabeth Mwaniki and a devoted father of Mary Wangui Mwaniki of Safaricom PLC, Donatoh Maina, Ann Wanjiku, Biancah Wambui, Regina Waruguru and Caroline Njeri.
He was a father in love of Daniel Gatundu, Sarah Wachera, Stephen Njoroge, Josphat Kanyi and Humphrey Maina.
He was a cherished grandfather of Michelle, Christine, Clarita, Brian, Clemence, Clement, Andrew, Euticus, Austin, Reinhard, Ephraim, Alisa, Milena, Eliana, and Melick, who will forever hold his memory close of their hearts.
He was a beloved brother of the late Vianga Wambui, Regina Wangari, Raphael Wachira, Zachary Ndegwa, Agnes Njeri, Lucy Njoki, and Elizabeth Wanjiru.
Joseph Mwaniki Donatoh was a dedicated and respected educator who served faithfully at Pesi Primary School, Murichu Primary School, Holy Family Academy, and Good Sherpherd, Njambini, leaving a lasting impact on generations of learners and colleagues.
The cortège will leave Consolata Mathari Hospital Nyeri on 19/12/2025 at 8.00am and the burial will take place same day at his home in Metha village,Wiyumiririe, Laikipia County along Nyeri- Nyahururu Road.
Joseph, in the Lord’s hands you rest; in our hearts you will remain forever. Amen.
