JANIE ANNE HASSANALI – Funeral & Burial Details Kenya

It is with gracious acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Janie Anne Hassanali on the 7th of October 2026.

Affectionately called “Mama Dee” and “Mama Jimmy”.

Daughter of the late Joseph Hassanali and the late Marie Therese Celestin. Mother of James Wainaina and Dinah Wairimu. Sister of the late Richard Gerrish. Grandmother of Tanaya, Ty and Theo.

In-law of the Waigwas. Godmother of Tanya Kasichana.

Called mother, friend, aunty, neighbour and grandmother by many.

We thank the family of the late Charles Rubia where she worked for many years, Swing Limited and the Mucuha family, the employees of Kensey International, the staff of the Mara Restaurant and Legend Management Company.

Friends and family are meeting daily for prayers and funeral arrangements at her home in Madaraka Estate, Nairobi from 4pm. The requiem mass will take place on Thursday, the 15th of October 2026 at 9.30 am at Don Bosco Upperhill, Nairobi followed by a private interment.
