It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Rose Onyango Ochang, after a long battle with cancer. Rose was the beloved daughter of the late Monica Awjang Obenge and the late William Awjang Obenge. She was the loving wife of the late Patrick Onyango Ochang.
Rose was a devoted mother of Kerry Francis, Cheryl Achien, Charles, Hon. Rozzah, Frederick, Benter, Jessica, Denis, Collins, Lilian, Elijah, Harrison and Raphael, the late Peter, the late Florence, the late Herina, the late Wilson and the late Terry. She was a mother-in-law of Maureen Mbiti, Timothy Owuor, Denis, the late Enos, Mercy, the late Alice, Daisy among others.
The body of the late Rose Onyango Ochang is lying at Lee Funeral Home, Nairobi. For those who wish to pay their last respects, viewing of the body and prayers will be held at Lee Funeral Home on Wednesday, 7th October 2026, from 11:00 a.m.
On Friday, 9th October 2026, the body will be airlifted to Kisumu, where a funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Church in Ahero, Kisumu Diocese, Catholic Parish, Sakwa Church. Thereafter, the cortege will proceed to her rural home in Sakwa Ajiigo, Bondo.
The burial service will be held at Ajiigo Primary School on Saturday, 10th October 2026, followed by her final interment at the family home.
“A loving heart has ceased to beat, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.”
