With hearts full of love and deep sadness, the family of the late Bishop David Kalua announces the passing of John Kioli Kalua, which occurred on 28th September 2026.
John was the devoted husband of Victoria Ndinda Kioli of Kenya Prison Services, and loving father of Debra Kavuu of the Aga Khan University, and Adora Kavengi of Brighton International School. He was the son of Debra Kavuu Kalua and the late Bishop David Kalua Nguli, and son-in-law of Alice Kavengi Kuusya and the late Johnston Kuusya Mutua.
John was the Executive Director of the Green Africa Group, Chairman of the Kenya Climate Working Group, and a commissioner with the Nairobi Rivers Commission. He was a deeply dedicated environmentalist whose work touched many lives.
Family and friends are meeting daily from 6pm at the Kioli residence at Ngamu Apartment, Katani in Syokimau. A memorial service will be held at CITAM Karen on Friday, 2nd October 2026 from 11 a.m.
He will be laid to rest on Monday, 5th October 2026 at his rural home in Unyaa Village, Kitui County.
