It is with profound sorrow, yet humble acceptance of God’s will, that we announce the passing of Zebedee Miliza Sagwa, a retired banker with KCB Bank, who passed away on 6th August 2026 in Kakamega.
He was the beloved husband of Juliah Khatushi Ashihundu.
Loving son of the late Andrea Sagwa and Estella Mwavichi.
Devoted father of Vivienne Mbome Miliza (UN-WFP), Eng. Adolwa Joel Miliza (Sketchline), Josephine Kayeri Miliza (APC), and Ripa Ischi Miliza (Hello Tractor).
Respected father-in-law of Prof. Godwin Siundo (University of Nairobi) and Mercy Ng’etich (Pesaplal).
Cherished, loving, and doting grandfather of Griffin, Graham, Aaron, Matt, Taia, and Netai.
He was a valued co-parent of Christopher Siundo, June Mwang and Joyce Ngetchi.
Brother of Phaniece, Mung’asia, Manasseh, the late Mulanda, Phineas, the late Joseph, Fred, and John.
He was a dearly loved son-in-law of the late Isaac Ashihundo and the late Ripsa Ischi.
Beloved brother-in-law of Mary, the late Ben, the late Damian, Martin, Zipporah, Florah, the late Kennedy, George Murila, Laban Libokoyi and the Lugala community.
Treasured uncle of Evans, Simiti, Emmanuel, Fanuel, Winnie, Sylvia, Bruce, Hillary, Victor, Kevin, Ian, Dennis, Martin, Christopher, Gracia, Bradley, Praxedes, Jacinta, Phaustine, Sharon, Lillian, Clark, Theophilus, Rhitzael, Dennis, Derrick, Arnold, and Marlene, among others.
Cousin of George Odanga, Mbaja, Mary Ayiga, Beatrice, Pamela Mrwey, Isiala Mamera, Bahati among others.
Nephew of Madoya, Donyi, Aunt Janet, Alice Obaga, Gladys Mahiva, the late Mzee Mamera, Mama Esther among others.
He was a lifelong friend of many, including “the Kimuda”, Captain Aluvale, Mbagya, Bishop Ligono, Kinaro, Amiga, Kuta, and Shigali families.
Zebedee will be fondly remembered for his contribution to Kenya’s banking industry, his integrity and professionalism, and above all, his deep passion for education, science, and innovation. He was a mentor, counsellor, and pillar of strength whose generosity of spirit and dedication to family left an enduring legacy on all who knew him.
Daily prayers and fellowship meetings are being held at his residence in National Housing, Amalemba, Kakamega. A fundraising meeting will be held on Tuesday, 18th August 2026, 2:00 p.m. at the same venue.
The body will leave Kakamega Funeral Home on Thursday, 20th August 2026, for a funeral service at PAG Macedonia Church at 10:00 a.m., thereafter, proceed for an overnight stay at his residence in National Housing, Amalemba, Kakamega.
Thereafter, the cortege will proceed to Kapsambo Village, Sabatia Constituency, Vihiga County, where the funeral service and burial will take place on Saturday, 22nd August 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
