It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of John ‘Kizunga’ Mwangi Mbuthia of Thome Five Estate, Safari Park Avenue, House no 223.
He was the husband of Beatrice Wachera and father of Brian Mbuthia, Cynthia Wairimu, and Bridgette Muthoni. Brother of Mary Wahito, the late Jane Wanjiru, the late Michael Mwai, Joe Mbuthia of eKitabu, Bernadette Nyambura, Catherine Njambi, Anne Muthoni and Mwangi Mbuthia of Seychelles.
He was an uncle, an in-law and also a friend to many. Friends and family are meeting at his Thome Five residence and also at Blue Springs Hotel, Thika Road, every day from 5.00pm.

A requiem Mass will be held today, Wednesday 14 October at Queen of Apostles, Thika Road, at 3.00pm, after which we’ll hold a candle-lighting ceremony at his Thome residence.
The cortege leaves KU Referral Mortuary on Friday, 16 October, 2026 for Holy Mass at Kiria-ini Catholic Church, Kiria-ini, Murang’a, followed by burial at the ancestral home at Kagio-ini.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May Zunga’s soul rest in eternal peace.
