It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Stephen Kamau Mbiyu, formerly of Kenya Shell and the United Nations (UN).
He was the beloved son of the late Peter Mbiyu and the late Teresia Wairimu Mbiyu. Stepson of Elizabeth Wanjiku Mbiyu.
Loving husband of Margaret Mumbi Kamau.
Adoring father of Rose Kamau & the late Joseph Njoroge, Terry Kamau, Peter Mbiyu Kamau, Catherine Kamau & the late James Githinji.
Wonderful grandfather of Vanessa, Tevin, Natasha, Tamara, Tyler and Ayden.
Cherished brother of Catherine Nyambura Karanja & Eng. Stanley Karanja Kimemia.
Son-in-Law of the late John Kabiru and the late Esther Njeri.
Brother-in-Law of the late Lemmy Chege, the late Agnes Chege, Ann Joyce Chege, Julia Wachu & Humphrey Kariuki and Mary Wanjiku & Edward Kairu.
He was a beloved cousin, uncle, grandfather, in-law, friend, colleague and mentor to many.
Family and friends are meeting daily at his Ridgeways home for Mass and funeral preparations.
The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home on Friday, 28th August 2026 at 8:00 a.m. for a Funeral Service at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Ridgeways, followed by a burial at the family home in Githunguri, Kiambu County.
