It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of our dear mother and matriarch, Mama Rebecca Lando Dinga Odhiambo, who rested on September 10, 2025 after a short illness.
Devoted wife of the late Elly Wilson Odhiambo Oyieko. Daughter-in-law of the late Mzee Sajni Oyieko Obuya and the late Mama Hannah Agolla Menga of Okela Village, Uyoma Katwen’ga.
Beloved daughter of the late Mzee Isaiah Dinga and the late Mama Beldina Ogutta Dinga of Seme Korango. A loving sister of the late Selina Onyango, Ketura Alul, Eliud Dinga, the late Christine Omondi and the late Amos Dinga.
A loving mother of the late Dan Apollo Odhiambo, Alice Akinyi Odhiambo, the late Enock Otieno Ayot Odhiambo, Margaret Val Odhiambo, Christine Mwajuma Odhiambo, Doreen Atieno Oport and the late Elizabeth Achieng Odhiambo.
A cherished mother-in-law of Isabella Atieno Odhiambo, the late Dalmas Owiso Oduor and Philemon Oport Obuogo.
A treasured aunt to the families of the Onyangos, Aluls, Dingas, Omondis, Yongos, and many others.
A doting grandmother to 17 grandchildren and a beloved great-grandmother to 26 great-grandchildren.
Mama Rebecca will be remembered for her radiant spirit, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
Prayer meetings are being held at her home in Okela Village, Uyoma Katwen’ga, Siaya County.
The cortege will leave Bondo District Hospital Mortuary on Thursday, October 2nd , 2025, followed by a service at Nomiya Luo Church, Oseure and an overnight vigil.
Her funeral service and burial will be held on Friday, October 3rd , 2025 at her home in Okela Village, Uyoma Katwen’ga.
